Fragrance: stock is +5.9% at $0.45 on good volume, on the back of a glowing write up by Bloomberg. It notes CEO Koh Wee Meng has joined the ranks of the world’s billionaires as a doubling in price of his shares in Fragrance Group boosted his fortune to $1.1b.
Recall Fragrance has been seeing improved sentiment after it said in Mar this yr that it would spin off its hotels business and may pay sh/h a special div.
Bloomberg notes Koh also owns shares in Aspial Corp, a Singapore-based jewelry and property company. Shares of Aspial, run by his brother, Koh Wee Seng, tripled in the last 12 months as revenue rose to a record $420m in 2011.
Koh’s other Spore-listed holdings include Roxy-Pacific (+50% ytd, also owns a hotel), Goodland Group, as well as curry-puff maker Old Chang Kee Ltd.
