Purchases: 15 Companies recorded 27 purchases worth S$3.95m, vs. 16 companies, 30 purchases worth $3.68m.
Disposals: 3 companies recorded 3 disposals worth $4.1m vs. 2 companies and 2 disposals worth $1.69m last week.
Buyback: 18 companies recorded 83 repurchases worth $87.5m, vs. 17 companies, 71 repurchases worth $42.2m last week.
Notable transactions:
-SCI: Resumed buyback lower than its acquisition prices earlier this year. 600,000 shares were repurchased at an average of $4.31, accounting for 5% of trading volume.
-Wing Tai Holdings: Repurchased 687,000 shares worth $1.65 each, picking up where it left off in Feb. The counter has been down since April from $2.08.
-Viking Offshore & Marine: Repurchased for the first time since Aug’13 with 200,000 shares purchased from at 8¢ each. The counter is sharply down since 16.2¢ in January.
-Chip Eng Seng: Purchased 1.1m at 86.9¢. Chip Eng Seng previously bought back 7.4m shares between mid-Aug to early-Sep at average of 88.4¢
-KSH Holdings: Buyback for the first time since Oct’12 with 691,000 purchased at average of $0.52 each, accounting of 57% stock’s trading volume.
Substantial shareholder Yip Sau Leung acquired 447,000 shares at $0.515, increasing his stake to 6.08% of issued capital, from 5.06%.
-Second Chance Properties: CEO Mohamed Salleh Marican purchased 413,000 at $0.445, increasing deemed holdings to 9.57% of issued capital. He had previously acquired 1.09m shares from Sep to Nov, and 8.28m shares from Feb to Mar at average of $0.454.
- Raffles Education: Chairman and CEO Chew Hua Seng recorded his purchase since Jun’13 with 410,000 shares bought at $0.305, bringing his deemed interest to 35.13%. Raffles Education had earlier bought back 9.16m at average of $0.34 between May and July.
- Singapore Shipping Corporation: Executive Chairman Ow Chio Kiat picked up where he left off in July, with 102,000 shares purchased at $0.27 each, bringing his deemed ownership to 36.93%. Share price has been up 15% since $0.235 in August.
