Medtecs: ($0.082) East-North Eastern winds push up stock price of N95 supplier
Counter jumped 15% over the past five days from $0.071, as news articles citing that the haze has begun to move toward Singapore and Malaysia gain traction.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency announced the increasing number of hotspots in Sumatra, Indonesia, coupled with the east-northeast winds, indicate the potential for the haze to cloud over Singapore and Malaysia once again.
To add gas to the fiery situation, the El Nino phenomenon has a 80% likelihood to occur between Oct-Nov, and a 60% chance that it would occur now-late Aug, resulting in extreme droughts over the forest fires at Central Sumatra.
Medtecs, the medical supplies maker, produces the N95 respirators and may see a boost in sales of the face masks again if the winds bring the haze back over to the region.
