Medtecs International

Medtecs International: Face masks, air purifiers and eye drops are flying off the shelves in Singapore as the city-state chokes on haze wrought by peat fires in Indonesia. Guardian Pharmacy outlets at Anson Road and Bugis Junction reported that the face masks had sold out and they were waiting for more stocks to arrive on Thursday. As a comparison, barely one box of face masks could be sold before the haze started. Currently, retailers are selling four-five boxes a day. Currently on the market, the N95 respirator masks are used for protection against the haze; We identify surgical mask and medical equipment maker Medtecs International, as one of the stocks in focus during the 2003/04 SARS period. Amongst its suite of healthcare products, Medtecs also manufactures and distributes these N95 facemasks globally. The group, which is dual-listed in Taiwan and Singapore, is an original product manufacturer of a wide range of medical consumables for large multi-national healthcare distributors, pharmaceutical companies and hospital groups in the United States and Europe. It also acts as agent and distributor of other branded medical devices in Asia Pacific.
