Myanmar

Myanmar: The US and Myanmar have signed a trade and investment framework agreement. The signing of the agreement came a day after U.S. President Barack Obama met with Myanmar President Thein Sein in the White House. Sein was the first president of Myanmar to visit the White House in 47 years. The trade agreement would create a platform for ongoing dialogue and cooperation on trade and investment issues between the two govts. Official U.S. statistics show bilateral trade between the two countries totaled only US$90 m in the first three months of the year. Our M-chips today are seeing a boost today, being likely beneficiaries of further foreign investment and economic progress in Myanmar.
