Myanmar Telco: will announce the list of companies that are pre-qualified to bid on the telco licenses on 11 Apr. Recall, in Feb, Myanmar said that 91 companies had formally expressed interest in the licenses, although this has whittled to 22 companies that have submitted bids. The winners of the 15 yr contracts will be announced in late June, which will open the doors to an untapped Myanmar population of 64m people. Market interest may be centred on bidders, China Mobile, SingTel, Yoma (via tie up with Soros and Digicel). NeraTel, Ntegrator are potential beneficiaries related to the build out of the telco infrastructure. mDR, Carriernet are potential beneficiaries related to mobile hand set distribution in Myanmar
