SingTel

SingTel: 100% owned Optus secures A$60m (~S$76.6m) deal from security and surveillance firm Suretek to deliver fixed network and high-speed mobile services for 5 yrs. Suretek's inbound voice as well as its fixed and wireless data services will also be switched over to Optus from its current service provider. Optus’ heavy capex spending in its 4G network in the past years to catch up with key rival Telstra has always been viewed not positively amongst its investors. Recent M1 results on data monetization in Singapore could provide a positive backdrop for the other two mobile providers, as investors look forward to Singtel's results estimated to be out 10 May, Starhub results estimated to be out 3 May.
