F&N
F&N: Thai Beverage has been increasing its stake in beverage and property conglomerate Fraser & Neave (F&N). In a filing to SGX, Thai Beverage, has upped its stake in F&N from 23.9% to 24.1%. The transaction took place last Wednesday.
Analysts said this move may be part of Thai Beverage's strategy to cement its position in F&N, amid a bidding war over Asia Pacific breweries, which is jointly owned by F&N and Dutch beer maker, Heineken.
Separately, Thai Beverage announced that SGX has granted it a Waiver of Requirement from shareholders approval, regarding its proposed investment in F&N. Grp’s reason for seekin the waiver was to enable it to complete the proposed investment as soon as practicable in order for co. to become a shareholder in F&N and have its views taken into acct as a F&N shareholder.
