Goldtron: no recent news to highlight.
However a number of corporate developments have been playing out at Goldtron over the past 6 mths.
i) Significant shareholder Prospect China, which owned 10.6% of shares at one point, pared its stake to just 1.2% in mid-Dec, via a series of married deals. Interestingly, the co has not reported any new significant shareholders since, suggesting the stake was split up amongst a number of third parties.
ii) last mth, a group of 7 shareholders launched a requisition to oust the incumbent Board of independent directors, who subsequently resigned. The sh/h were apparently disgruntled by the poor earnings history (6yrs of consecutive net loss) of Goldtron, and looking for new leadership.
iii) Group CEO Chandran Nantha Kuar resigned in mid Mar. No replacement was announced.
Goldtron shares have risen 8-fold since bottoming out at 0.1ct in Nov last yr.
The recent uptrend coincides with the recent mgt and sh/h changes. Investors may be hopeful that this could lead to pro-active / positive change and a reversal of the co’s fortunes.
At last price of 0.8cts, the stock trades at 3.85x P/B.
