Rubber

Rubber: climbs for a 4th day to 1-wk high. May-delivery rubber in Tokyo gained as much as 2.7% to ¥373.3/kg (US$4440/mt). May futures in Shanghai +2.8% at Rmb 31900/ton at midday…

Reasons cited include bigger-than-forecast growth in US
employment and higher vehicle sales, as well as faster-than-estimated manufacturing growth in China, which may boost demand for rubber tires. This comes amidst a backdrop of weak supply, due to weather disruptions in Thailand, Msia, the major rubber producing countries.

GMG unchg at $0.31.
