Gallant Venture: Signs MOU with Garuda Indonesia to Develop Bintan Island into a world class centre for the aerospace industry, as well as a tourism and aviation hub. The island located in the Riau archipelago of Indonesia will be Garuda's new hub and its centre for aircraft maintenance. The first development phase of $300m to be invested over two years in an initial 500-ha facility will include one runway and one terminal, which will be connected to the ferry terminal with services to Singapore and Batam. The two groups will set up a JV company for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft and components at Bintan Aerospace Industry.
