A-Sonic
A-Sonic: Last month, CEO Janet Tan raised her stake in Georgia-based airline Air Caucasus from 25% to 49%. The airline, which has received ~US$6m in investment to date, has achieved scheduled airline status in the Caucasus region and now has the opportunity to scale up quickly. The airline currently leases two MD-83 aircraft from A-Sonic, and will add another three more aircraft leases by summer. This bodes well for A-Sonic’s recent expansion into the aircraft leasing segment. Going forward, if Air Caucasus performs well, A-Sonic may also consider incorporating it.
