Super Group: Makes a new all-time high again today at $3.78. Note that overnight, Starbucks annouced plans to more than double its number of employees in APAC to 40,000 people over the next five yrs, a sign that the Co. anticipates that coffee consumption will accelerate even as major economies in the region slow. In many parts of Asia, such as China and India, tea has long been the beverage of choice. But coffee consumption is growing quickly as Western companies such as Starbucks and the Coffee Beanery set up shop. While Asia remains a small piece of Starbucks' business, it is the fastest-growing. Starbucks posted revenue of $214.1m in China and the Asian-Pacific region combined in the qtr through Dec up 28% yoy.
