Informatics

Informatics / Education plays: Grp CEO has resigned, citing plans to pursue other interests. Separately, recall the SURGE in interest in Raffles Education last Friday, which could be attributed to renewed interest in the sector, following the impending listing of Overseas Education Ltd (OEL) this coming Thursday. OEL shares are being offered at 48c apiece, translating into a P/E of 6.6x and 1.73x P/B. Raffles Edu, on the other hand, has had a tough few years recently and posted a loss of some $85m for FY12, largely due to write-offs in Vietnam and China. Market watchers reckon that, Raffles Edu bring the largest private education group in the Asia-Pacific with 22,000 students in 33 colleges in 30 cities across 13 countries, Raffles Edu will remain on the radar screens of investors. Meanwhile, we do not rule out renewed interests in other SG related Edu stocks like informatics etc.
