Biosensors/DES: News wires reported that Japan Drug-Eluting Stent Penetration Rose to a record 83%, as Drug-eluting stents (DES) recently released in Jap helped increase DES penetration to 83.1% in 3Q, the highest level in data going back to 2006, according to Millennium Research Group. Penetration rose nearly 600 bps yoy in 2Q and 3Q due to new DES approved from major manufacturers, improving the product mix as DE. We note that Japan contributes approximately to 25% of Biosensor’s rev (Via Noburi), with an estimated 30% mkt share, and latest news could be positive for the grp.
