Genting SP
Genting SP: is flat at $1.37, broadly in line with the STI's 0.1% rise. Dow Jones notes GENS hired an executive from rival Las Vegas Sands (LVS) to join the compliance department at its Resorts World Sentosa casino resort. OCBC says, "it's a step in the right direction," as the CRA is looking at stiffer penalties, and GENS is being proactive and are hiring people to beef up the team.
A casino-industry consultant told Dow Jones on Friday that RWS has had more run-ins with regulators than Marina Bay Sands, with the CRA fining RWS $620k for disciplinary breaches so far, compared with MBS' $190k.
GENS may find support around Friday's low of $1.355, which was last seen in Aug2010, while its 10-day moving average around $1.39 may offer near-term resistance.
