Ntegrator: (The Edge)

Ntegrator: (The Edge) To Benefit from Myanmar’s opening up. Ntegrator designs, installs and implements data, video, fibre optic, wireless and cellular net work infrastructures as well as voice communication systems, making it a potential play on the expansion and renewal of Myanmar’s decrepit telecoms net works. CEO note that over coming 2-3yrs time, Myanmar could account for more then 1/3 of Ntegrator’s rev, making Myanmar firm’s second largest source of rev after Vietnam. In FY10, 19% of grp’s rev came from Myanmar, although that figure collapsed to 1% the following yr as the govt put telecoms upgrade projects on hold last yr to focus one election. Currently Ntegrator supplies Myanmar with transmission equipment for its CDMA (Code division Multiple Access) cellular net work. Although CDMA is obsolete in SG, it serves as one of Myanmar’s main mobile phone networks, in addition to GSM and 3G. Mobile phone users make up just 2-3% of Myanmar’s 60m population, with hardly any roaming services. With political reform underway, Myanmar has announced plans for a much-needed telco upgrade, announcing plans to add 30m GSM lines over the next 5 yrs. Currently foreign telco’s are not allowed to hold telco licenses in Myanmar, but a law awaiting approval frm the govt for foreign operators to come in is awaing approval, with regional telco’s like Singtel likely to be interested in the mkt. Coincidentally, Singtel and Vietnam’s Viettel are key customers for Ntegrator and plans to ride their expansion into Myanmar is they decide to pursure telco licenses. Overall, CEO remains optimistic abt prospects in Myanmar and stresses that his long-standing r/s with Manmar;s policymakers will be influential in clinching more contracts.
