Gold

Gold: Singapore's gold plays may see some interest, as among regional markets already trading, the segment is the only one being spared a sharp selloff after gold price surged as expectations for QE3 were resurrected. But while any trades in the locally listed plays may help buoy overall market volume, traders should curb any enthusiasm for Singapore-listed gold plays, as they are small-caps with short track records. Catalist-listed CNMC is still engaged in exploration, without significant production. LionGold is busily seeking gold assets, which may limit returns near term; earlier today, it announced it has entered a deal to acquire Vista Gold Antigua for US$7m
