Tiger Air: Australia’s CASA has discontinued its application to the Federal Court for extension of suspension, and this re-instates Tiger Australia’s Air Operator’s Cert.
Certain conditions come attached.
i) initial limitation of 18 flights per day in Aug ’11, and subsequent increase to subject to CASA approval.
ii) other conditions imposed on the airline cover pilot training and proficiency, pilot rostering and fatigue management, revision of operating manuals and others. The requirements include additional flight simulator and ground training for pilots.
Tiger will recommence ticket sales from Fri, 12 Aug. Flights will also resume on that day, beginning with the Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Sydney route.
Tiger will reduce its operating fleet from 10 aircraft to 8. it will close its operations out of Adelaide Airport, and temporary suspend operations out from Melbourne (Avalon).
Following the implementation of the carbon price system (A$23/ton) from 11 Jul, Tiger expects the impact at ~A$3 per pax, depending on sector length. It intends to pass the additional cost on to passengers.
Tiger hasn’t requested for lift of trading halt yet.
