GoldenAgri

Greenpeace has launched fresh attacks on Sinar Mas (including GoldenAgri and main oil palm subsidiary, PT SMART), accusing the Group of engaging in unsustainable deforestation. Both GoldenAgri and PT SMART have issued official statements to deny the allegations, and engaged international certification bodies to conduct a verification report on their business, expected to be out in July.

Earlier this year, Nestle stopped buying from SMART, following Greenpeace's protests at its headquarters, while Unilever NA suspended deliveries from SMART in December. The company risks losing more customers if the verification report validates Greenpeace’s allegations.
