OSV

OSV: Swissco notes that OVERSUPPLY is growing in the offshore marine sector as more traditional shipbuilders shift their focus towards building offshore support vessels (OSVs) to overcome the poor demand in their own market. The grp sounded out this caution even though he noted that the OSV market is more resilient than the traditional ship market, and therefore better prepared to weather such a setback. Add that we should be very cautious about traditional shipbuilders entering the OSV market because it seems that it could potentially be a bubble building. Even though the Baltic Dry Index has improved a little bit, a slight pick-up does not mean that we are out of the woods yet and the numbers show that conventional shipping has not recovered yet.
