Tiger Air

Tiger Air: Operating Statistics for march, shows that Tiger SG recorded a 30% increase in traffic to 766m rev passenger-kilometres (RPK). This comes on the back of a 31% increase in capacity to 894m available seat-kilometres (ASK). Consequently, yoy passenger load factor was 1 ppt lower at 86%. The number of passengers carried grew 23% yoy to 413,000 passengers. For the 12 mths to Mar13, Tiger SG recorded a 20% increase in traffic to 8b RPK, more than keeping pace with a 15% increase in capacity to 9.5b ASK. Consequently, passenger load factor was three ppt higher at 84%. The number of passengers carried grew 13% to 4.4m, compared to 3.9m in the previous period. Tiger Australia recorded a 78% increase in traffic to 267m RPK while capacity increased 66% to 313m ASK for the month of Mar13. As a result, passenger load factor improved 6 ppt to 85%. In March 2013, Tiger Australia carried 245,000 passengers, representing an increase of 108% over the previous period. The airline was operating at a significantly reduced capacity and on a limited schedule a yr ago. For the 12 mths to Mar13, Tiger Australia recorded a 54% increase in traffic to 2.8b RPK, following a similar increase in capacity to 3.4b ASK. Passenger load factor remained unchanged at 83%. The number of passengers carried grew 57% to 2.5m vs 1.6m carried in the previous period.
