China CPI: Mainland Chinese media sources are ‘Whispering’ the April consumer price index (CPI) will show a rise of 5.1% YoY, slightly below a 5.2% gain tipped in a survey of analysts reported by Dow Jones. In March, CPI inflation accelerated to a nearly 3yr high of 5.4%. Actual figures will be out later today.
